Wolves sweep doubleheader

Jeremy Melton threw a no hitter Saturday to lead Fayetteville past B.B. Comer 3-0. The junior pitched seven innings and struck out 12 batters.

Melton went 2—3 from the plate and knocked in two RBI’s to lead the Wolves (9-5) offense. Jared Williams went 1-2 from the plate and scored two runs. Jeremy Ricks recorded a RBI.

Comer received a solid outing from Taylor Bryant. The junior pitched six innings, struck out 10 batters, allowed five hits and gave up three runs.

The Fayetteville Wolves defeated Clay County 7-3 Saturday in the second game of the doubleheader.

Dalton Vick was the wining pitcher for the Wolves. He pitched five innings, allowed six hits, four runs and struck out two batters.

Matt Williams pitched two innings and struck out five batters to secure the win for Fayetteville.

Andrew Scott led the Wolves offense. The junior went 2-3 from the plate, with two RBI’s and two runs. Brett Autrey went 2-3 from the plate, with two RBI’s and scored a run for Fayetteville. Williams went 3-4 from the plate, with a RBI.

Fayetteville travels to take on Munford Tuesday at noon.
