Then drop by the Talladega Bowling Center on July 30 and support their “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” event. The effort will benefit the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northeast Alabama. The group provides mentoring for children ages 5 through 18 and offers one-on-one contact for kids who need an older role model in their lives.
It’s easy to participate. Head up a team of up to five bowlers for $250. Sponsor a lane. Ask others to help out with a donation. Whatever you can do will help kids in Talladega and across the region.
The Talladega office opened just last year and now serves 32 kids in this community. While the program mostly needs time from volunteers, it, like everyone else, needs money to operate.
Last year this event raised more than $3,000. That’s money well spent for a program that offers many benefits to young people. For more information on this event, call 256-480-2071.
See how many strikes you can bowl. Do it for the kids.
