LINCOLN — Lincoln police are investigating a Tuesday night stabbing that required one man to be placed in intensive care.

Lincoln Police Department Capt. Mike Brewer said it appears two white males became involved in an argument before the stabbing occurred around 11 p.m. at Windsong Island on the shore of Lake Logan Martin.

“These two were not locals. They were staying with somebody in Lincoln,” Brewer said. “There was a verbal altercation, and one stabbed the other in the abdomen.”

The stabbing victim was put into surgery in the early morning hours of Wednesday to repair the wound. Brewer said the victim remained in intensive care as of late Wednesday morning.

No arrests had been made and the investigation is ongoing. Brewer declined to release the names of the people involved at this point but said he may be able to do so at a later time.

Alcohol appeared to be a factor in the incident, Brewer added.
