You’ll meet the brand new Miss Alabama, Ashley Davis of Dothan, along with the new Miss Outstanding Teen Scarlett Walker of Birmingham and Miss Talladega County, Erica Leonardi.

Davis will emcee the Miss Talladega County pageant Saturday night at B.B. Comer Memorial High School in Sylacauga, where 16 young women will compete for that title and seven for the title of Miss Talladega County’s Outstanding Teen.

The pageants, both franchises of the Miss Alabama and Miss American Organizations, bring with them the possibility of earning more than $3.3 million in scholarships, gifts and services, said pageant director Ken Brewer.

“This is very exciting to have such an outstanding amount of award for the contestants,” he said.

The theme for this year’s pageant is “Don’t stop Believin’: A Night of Glee,” and showcases Miss Talladega County Erica Leonardi; Miss Talladega County’s Outstanding Teen Madge Ellis; and special guest performer Tyson Hall.

Music for the performance is taken from the hit television show, “Glee.”

“We have an outstanding group of young ladies from all across Alabama competing this year,” Brewer said. “We look forward to welcoming these young ladies to Talladega County and have planned a great night of entertainment and competition.”

Miss Talladega County participants will compete in onstage interviews, swimsuit, talent and evening wear events. The participants in the Miss Talladega County’s Outstanding Teen compete in all areas except for swimsuit, with a fitness event substituted for the swimsuit competition.

Miss Talladega County 2011 will receive more than $33,000 in scholarships, gifts and services and Miss Outstanding Teen 2011 will receive more than $3,500 in scholarships, gifts and services.
