“North Carolina native Ivan Parker has spent more than two and a half decades ministering in churches and arenas, sharing his testimony and rich vocal talents,” according to a press release about the event. “For the past decade he has been regularly featured on the successful Bill Gaither Homecoming Video and Concert Series, and has more than 13 solo recordings to his credit. Inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1993, he has received more than 20 Soloist and Male Vocalist of the Year Awards from a variety of leading fan and trade publications.”
Parker first began recording southern Gospel in 1982 as a member of the quartet Gold City, “achieving 19 Top Ten hits, including the 1993 Southern Gospel Song of the Year Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association. Since embarking on a solo career in 1994, Parker has continued to enjoy prominence and much success. Hit songs have flowed his way in bunches, as he has more than 13 solo recordings to his credits. Most recently, he enjoyed his first Number One hit release with his recording of ‘I Choose,’” according to the release.
The Gaither Gospel Series released “The Best of Ivan Parker Collection” on CD and DVD in 2008. He was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1993 and has received more than 20 soloist and male vocalist of the year awards from various fan and trade magazines.
The release goes on to say that “growing up in North Carolina, Janet’s earliest recollections center around the church. For the past three decades she has been living her dream of singing Gospel Music. She is one of Gospel music’s most recognized female vocalist. For the past decade she has been featured on the popular Gaither Homecoming Video and Concert Tour. In fact, in May of 2007, the Gaither Gospel Series released The Best Of Janet Paschal in DVD and CD format. The project includes many favorite songs made popular by Janet, which have been included on the Gaither Video Series over the past decade. This popular Series has enjoyed sales in excess of 10 million.”
Her music, the release says is “marked by numerous honors and accolades. Her passion and vulnerability is most evident in her inspiring music, including her latest release, Treasure. Paschal’s recordings have been recognized with numerous Grammy and Dove Award nominations, and she is consistently named among Gospel Music's favorite soloists by the genre's top trade magazines,” it says.
”Born in Reidsville, North Carolina, Paschal has been featured in many of the world’s most prominent stages, including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. After battling breast cancer in 2005, she resumed her touring schedule, including concerts, women's conferences and breast cancer events. In 2009 she appeared in more than 50 cities and a dozen foreign countries, including Ireland, Sweden, Hungary, Scotland, Norway, and Germany. In November, 2008, the popular singer released a brand new book, Treasures Of The Snow, which chronicles her triumphant battle with cancer and stories from three decades in Gospel music. Her recordings have been recognized with two Grammy Award nominations and several Dove Award nominations by members of the Gospel Music Association. In addition, combined sales figures exceeding a half million have afforded her the honor of twice being named among the Top Ten Favorite Female Vocalists in Charisma Magazine’s Annual Music Poll. She also hosts her own radio program, which airs on more than 20 radio stations, covering seven states. The program, ‘Walking The Good Road’ promotes cancer awareness.”
